Sunday 27th from 12.00 – 15.00 we invite you to attend a pre-conference seminar for physiotherapists and others interested in the topic of OI & physiotherapy. There is an additional charge 100 NOK for the seminar, which will include a light lunch. The seminar is open for physiotherapists and others interested in physiotherapy and OI. Both participants of the scientific conference and others are invited to attend. Main speakers are Verity Pacey from Australia and Brigitte Müller from Germany. The seminar has received financial support from The Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Rare Disorders (NKSD).
Verity Pacey (Australia)
Dr. Pacey is Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University and Senior Physiotherapist at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Verity holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Sydney, a Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy from La Trobe University and PhD from the University of Sydney. Her clinical work focuses on children with bone and connective tissue disorders. Her ongoing research is directed at providing a better understanding of the impact of physical disabilities on the daily life of children, and identifying the most effective ways to increase physical activity and manage associated symptoms.
Brigitte Müller (Germany)
Brigitte Müller is a pediatric physiotherapist since 15 years. She is working as leading physiotherapist in a rehabilitation centre for children and adolescents with neuro-orthopedic conditions (UniReha Köln) at the University Children’s Hospital in Cologne. For 13 years she is part of the multidisciplinary osteological team at the centre for rare skeletal diseases in childhood. Beside annual examinations, consultations for the whole families and equipment advices, she is treating patients with Osteogenesis imperfecta from birth until early adulthood with the main focus in strengthening and functional training.
